VEJA
Since 2004, VEJA has made sneakers differently — combining social projects, economic justice, and ecological materials. The brand uses organic Brazilian and Peruvian cotton, wild Amazonian rubber, and recycled plastic and polyester, produced in high-standard factories in Brazil and Portugal.
Sustainability is built into how VEJA sources, not added afterward: rubber is bought directly from Amazonian farming cooperatives at well above market price, and organic cotton comes through fair-trade partnerships with growers' associations in Brazil and Peru. VEJA publishes full transparency on its materials and practices through the VEJA Project, including its work on repair, upcycling, and cutting CO2 emissions.
